Fanatic purifier is new civic that is available with the Utopia expansion. It can be accessed only when playing a fanatic xenophobe + militarist or spiritualist empire and hivemind (devouring swarm). It offers a distinct play style than what Stellaris normally offers.With Utopia and Synthetic Dawn, use Armageddon bombardment as Fanatic Purifiers then use the AI rebellion trick and reform to Memorialists. Up until making this post, I didnt really realize the genocidal civics are somewhat the "rush" builds of stellaris. I always enjoy early game rushes in more traditional rts games (zerg rush etc) it didnt really occur to me that I was making a very unfair comparison regarding poor fanatic purifiers.

This can't be a bug because there is flavor text for their participation, which mostly involves them bitching about having to be around diseased aliens.
